Resume - Art

Early Career - Consulting

In Atlanta, before moving north to the woods, I worked for fifteen years as a consultant and workshop leader. I worked primarily with nonprofit organizations, helping them with teamwork, conflict resolution, race relations, and effective goal setting.

I also taught many workshops and classes for individuals. Topics included career development, assertiveness training, dealing with rejection, and creative visualization.

While in Atlanta, I began to pursue art more vigorously. I began learning blacksmithing and calligraphy. Friends helped me build a backyard blacksmithing shed.

Making Art in the Woods of North Georgia

In 1982 I moved to the north Georgia mountains. Here in the woods, my best friend and I built a small cabin. We each have art studios as well. I finished my last consulting job in 1984 and became a fulltime artist.

Now my main focus is on making my own art - especially vessel sculptures. I find that I still like to facilitate groups as well. Here in this rural area, I've led a writer's group, a class called Relaxing Into Creativity, and similar workshops.

I've also worked with many individual clients as a creativity coach. This gives me great satisfaction. I love helping others find their own individual direction and creative power.

Creativity Coaching Online

Since 1997 I've spent a fair amount of time on the internet. It's wonderful to find artist friends this way. I love giving and receiving help online.

Wet Canvas is one of my favorite forums for artists. As a Guide in the Creativity forum, I use some of my creativity coaching experience as well as my personal experiences as an artist. I post and answer messages there almost every day. I am glad to do this free of charge.

Professional Creativity Coaching

Now I offer professional creativity coaching to other artists, as well as to writers, dancers, photographers - people working in any creative field.

I wish you health, joy, and creative power.
