Aliveness Prevails

"Aliveness Prevails" by CJ MOrgan

"Aliveness Prevails"

So strong forces surround you.
An entire city opposes you.
Make obstacles your stairway.
Laugh - aliveness prevails!

I see this painting as celebrating the fragility of life. It's about laughing in the face of impersonal obstacles and a big city culture. And of course, it's about celebrating rich colors! These are some of my favorite colors.

THIS ARCHIVAL PRINT WILL LAST:

I use the finest art materials and archival techniques available so your purchase will last for generations.

To ensure high quality, I make these giclee prints myself with Epson Durabrite ink on acid-free Epson matte heavyweight paper. This combination of ink and paper has been well tested - officially estimated to last 72 years without significant fading.

As with any work of art, it's best to display it away from direct sunlight.

PRINTS ARE READY TO MAT & FRAME:

I ship prints unmatted and unframed to save you shipping costs. Then you can choose the mat and frame you like. The prints are standard sizes, so you can easily find mats and frames to fit if you'd like to do this yourself. A professional framer will usually charge less for these standard sizes, too.

ABOUT CATHERINE JO MORGAN:

I draw, paint and make vessel sculptures in my studio in the woods of northeast Georgia, in the foothills of the Smoky Mountains. I live in a rustic cabin I built with my partner in 1982. After an earlier career as a psychologist, I became a fulltime artist-blacksmith in 1985. Since 1990, I've specialized in iron and mixed media vessel sculptures. My drawings and paintings are usually studies for these sculptures. I draw my inspiration from walks in the woods, especially hikes into wilderness areas.

My work is in private collections across the United States. I've participated in invitational shows, including a show of iron bowls at Georgia Southern University in 1996. I've also taught blacksmithing and metal sculpture. In 1990 I was a featured demonstrator at the national blacksmithing conference in Alfred, New York. My bowls are also featured in Dona Meilach's book, Contemporary Ironwork.

ON PAINTING:

For me, painting is the chance to play with color. I've come to know that there are times when I need certain colors. They nourish me in a way nothing else does. So I believe that other people also need this nourishing joy. I paint with colors that feed my soul, knowing that someone else out in the world will need these colors too.

This is a small way of helping the world come more alive.

I wish you aliveness, health, and joy.

Thanks for looking. Feel free to email me with any questions or comments. I love to keep in touch with everyone interested in my work.
