Fantasy Testimonials that Ive Made Up
I thought it would be fun to share some of my fantasy testimonials. I got
this idea from novelist Gail Godwin, who wrote that she could sometimes save
writing that had lost its glow, by writing a fantasy review, imagining what
critics said after the piece was published. I've used this sometimes as part
of my studio process, to help me see where the work wants to go.
So remember, these are all in my imagination!
"This is my new piece of art. Isn't it fantastic? Who would have thought
that iron and paper would make something so beautiful and radiant? I just
love it."
"This is my new Morgan bowl, one of her newest. You've heard of Catherine Jo
Morgan? She started as a psychologist, then became a blacksmith, and then
she started making these bowls that use psychology. So the bowls are
designed to help people become more themselves - freer, happier, more
centered and secure. Buying a Morgan bowl is like giving yourself a happy
childhood."
"I like the way the paper and iron harmonize. It's as if they need each
other. And the whole piece makes me feel energized. I keep it on my dresser
to help me face the day. And oddly enough, when I look at it at bedtime I
feel calm and relaxed, ready to go to sleep. It reassures me."
"Somehow these Morgan bowls are energizing and calming at the same time."
"These are pieces that can change a whole room by changing its energy."
"I put a Morgan bowl in my waiting room. It serves as a kind of meditation
piece. Now my patients are more relaxed and tuned into themselves by the
time I see them. They're already opening up."
