DIRECTIONS: 563 Stonebank Road, Clarkesville, GA 30523 -- the one-story cabin at the top of the driveway. It's the second driveway on the right, once you turn onto Stonebank Road from Preacher Campbell Road -- which runs off Hwy 17 between Clarkesville and Helen. Carpooling is a good idea, but if you can walk up my steep driveway, extra parking is available across the road at 560 Stonebank.
Yes, a studio show the weekend before Valentine’s Day!
The weekend before Valentine's Day, I'm transforming my cabin in the woods from painting hermitage to gallery, open to you and any friends you'd like to bring. Many of the paintings are unframed and easy to ship, should you wish to send them as valentines. This show is also a benefit for my church, Grace-Calvary Episcopal, and for a local nonprofit organization, Human Development Associates, Inc. (HDA).
“Big Love!”
I'm calling this studio show "BIG LOVE!" That's what all my artwork has been about, for many years, even when I was working as an artist-blacksmith and sculptor. It’s just that over the years, my understanding of love has evolved, and this shows — I believe — in the artworks.
In addition to new acrylic paintings on gallery-wrap canvas, you’ll find a good range of artworks, including many not displayed on my website:
two open ironwork bowls from my years as an artist-blacksmith: “The Four Directions” and “Spiral Dance II” —
the newest anam cara heart paintings — desk icons and pocket paintings
framed or matted oil pastel heart paintings;
collage on canvas and paper, including the collage, “Calm Heart” in the current online exhibition, “This Fragile Earth,” at Episcopal Church Visual Arts (ECVA).

Prices range from $45 to $480, with payment by credit or debit card, check, cash, or time payments.
You may also donate extra money to make paintings available to those who can’t afford one; even a dollar donation helps. And you may add yourself to the list of people and places requesting subsidized paintings. (Can you do both? Of course!)
Benefit for Grace-Calvary and Human Development Associates:
Ten percent of sales will go to the rector’s discretionary fund at Grace-Calvary Episcopal Church in Clarkesville. This fund is available for Father Sam Buice to use for all kinds of emergency needs he encounters in the parish and wider community. The money may buy groceries, pay a utility bill, make an opportunity feasible, or help disaster survivors somewhere else in the world.
Another ten percent of the studio sales will go to a special fund at Human Development Associates, Inc. (HDA) to make paintings available where otherwise not affordable. This includes individuals whose incomes barely stretch to food and shelter (or don’t stretch that far) — and places such as waiting rooms in clinics or other nonprofit organizations with little or no budget for art.
